Pete Beamer Wagon

Pete Beamer came to Hawaii with his bicycle on his way to China in 1899. He took a side trip to the Big Island to view the eruption at Kilauea. He fell down while hiking to view the volcano and missed the boat to China and remained in Hilo the rest of his life. He bought the wagon in 1899 and according to his grandson Keola, sold mercantile items from his wagon before he opened his hardware store in 1900. He and his wagon were a familiar sight in Hilo. Pete Beamer's descendants were and are some of Hawaii Island's most talented and beloved musicians.
